Guru Yoga

Friday, July 14, 2017 - Saturday, July 15, 2017
9:30 am - 12:30 pm Guru Yoga
Matrika House, Portland ME

with Shambhavi Sarasvati

“Guru yoga is both the most beginning and the most advanced practice. It helps us to start our lives as practitioners with the recognition of enlightened essence nature. With this beacon, we can fruitfully engage the path of self-realization and ultimately reside in the state of Guru Yoga.” — Shambhavi Sarasvati

What is Guru Yoga?

Guru Yoga means discovering that the enlightened essence nature of the primordial Guru is the same as and continuous with your own real nature. Guru can be in the form of an accomplished teacher, an enlightened being or a symbol of unconditioned wisdom, such as a lotus.

You will receive a complete teaching in the meaning of Guru Yoga and opportunities to learn and practice various methods of Guru Yoga from Kashmiri and Tibetan direct realization traditions.

Guru Yoga is related to transmission. The practices of Guru Yoga are designed to give you an opportunity to receive a more direct transmission of your real nature and to abide in that.

What you will receive

  • A complete teaching in the meaning of Guru Yoga
  • Opportunities to learn and practice methods of Guru Yoga from the Dzogchen and Trika traditions

Guru Yoga is a Jaya Kula Core Teaching.

This event is part of Kripa! Jaya Kula’s Annual Summer Retreat! July 7-16: Explore the complete listing of teachings and special events.
