A nine ten-month teaching cycle that begins on October 15, 2022
Jyotish is the science of understanding what primordial wisdom is communicating to you through the medium of stars, planets, and the cycles of time.
WHY JYOTISH FOR YOU?
Many people want to know how they can learn to interpret their astrology charts. The formal study of Jyotish is a lifetime endeavor. It is difficult for a beginner or casual student to learn anything about Jyotish that is usable in their everyday lives. More advanced students often find it difficult to approach readings with a more intuitive, immediate understanding.
Jyotish for You is designed for two kinds of students.
Beginning and casual students will receive a thorough orientation to the profound View of Jyotish along with practical tools that are immediately applicable to the task of adapting to life’s changing circumstances even without longer-term study.
Experienced students will receive many tools to more quickly and contemplatively orient themselves to a new chart and gain profound insights as to the basic “flavor” of a life without complex calculations or research. These are traditional, but often overlooked methods that Shambhavi has gathered and systematized over the years.
All students will receive an orientation to Jyotish that is in keeping with nondual spiritual traditions. The emphasis is on the chart as a communication and a gateway to wisdom and greater freedom of expression rather than as a prescription or pronouncement of “fate.”

COMMITMENT
Jyotish is a wisdom tradition. As with all wisdom traditions, understanding of Jyotish is incremental and cumulative. Each teaching is required to understand the subsequent teachings.
Students must make a commitment to engage in a modest amount of study outside of class and, in some cases, to memorize key concepts and components of the teachings. If students study, Shambhavi may offer a second Jyotish teaching cycle.
In order to foster greater commitment, all students must pay the entire course fee before the beginning of the first day of class. This fee will be nonrefundable even if you decide to drop out of the course.
No students will be admitted mid-course or permitted to sit in on specific segments unless they have substantial prior training in Jyotish and permission from Shambhavi.
PREREQUISITES

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Shambhavi has studied Jyotish for the past 25 years. Her principle training is in the lineage of Mantriji/Hart de Fouw with Bette Timm. She offers Jyotish services mainly to her students.
Shambhavi is the spiritual director of Jaya Kula. She emphasizes the more explicitly devotional teachings and practices of Trika Shaivism and Dzogchen and direct knowing through encounters with the wisdom of the heart. She is also known for making complex teachings about the nature of the self and reality understandable, practical, and always relatable to everyday experience. Her teachings are grounded in her more than thirty-five years of daily personal practice and personal retreats.
“Generosity is a fountain of living light at the heart of creation. Having opened your heart and recognized its identity with the heart of the divine, you want to be here giving and giving throughout your natural lifetime. This is the essence of realization.” ~Shambhavi
