771 Center Blvd.
February 20 -24, 2020 join Shambhavi Sarasvati for a five-day immersion into meditation, movement, ritual, mantra, and kirtan on the occasion of Shiva Ratri 2020.
MYSTIC LORD SHIVA
During this retreat, Shambhavi will give transmission teachings on the mysteries of Lord Shiva: the mountain yogi, the householder, the signifier of light, of renunciation, the dark void, and the ecstasy of destruction and creation.
We will read stories of Lord Shiva, chant his names and mantras, sing his songs, read his poetry, meditate on his forms and the formless, and participate in a traditional puja devoted to him.
expect the unexpected
The Mountain Retreat is offered as a gateway to mystical experience. There will be no formal schedule. Shambhavi will spontaneously respond to whatever is transpiring and will structure the days accordingly.
Shambhavi will offer instruction in Shamatha meditation and other practices as needed.
KIRTAN AND CHANTING
The Shiva Ratri Mountain Retreat will offer nightly kirtan and chanting. We will learn traditional Kashmiri chants to Shiva from the lineage of Swami Lakshmanjoo.
Due to the nature of this retreat, participants must arrive and leave at the start and end times of the retreat.
