Satsang = Being in Reality Together

Come learn, LAUGH, find community, sing
and remember who you really are.

Satsang is a lively, ancient spiritual practice from India. People gather for a relaxed, “anything goes” conversation about the nature of reality, self-realization, spiritual life, and all aspects of human experience from the most ordinary to the most cosmic.

OUR SHELTER IN SATSANG LIVESTREAM SCHEDULE

Shambhavi holds livestream satsang from Berkeley, California every Wednesday at 6:30pm Pacific and every Sunday at 3:30pm Pacific. There’s also sometimes Saturday satsang at 3:30pm—check our calendar to find out. Kids are always welcome. Satsang is casual. Feel free to arrive and leave whenever you like. When the SIP is lifted, we will resume in person satsang.

HOW TO JOIN THE LIVESTREAM SATSANG

We livestream two-way via Zoom. In order to receive the Zoom link and password you must either subscribe to our newsletter or join our private Facebook group: Jaya Kula News. The most up-to-the minute information about schedule changes is always posted to the Facebook group.

EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS AT SATSANG?

We chant some chants. Then Shambhavi leads a free-flowing conversation during which people ask questions about anything. The conversation is followed by open-mic, community kirtan.

Listen to Shambhavi talk about what happens in satsang:

WHAT IS COMMUNITY KIRTAN?

Kirtan is call and response singing accompanied by musical instruments such as harmonium, drums, bells and whatever other instruments people like to play!

We play kirtan together as a community. Anyone can lead the singing, or play an instrument. The emphasis is on having fun and feeling the joy of singing together. We have a harmonium and loads of percussion instruments that anyone can play. Feel free to bring your own.

*** During the Shelter in Place, in order to offer kirtan from your home, you must have a wi-fi upload speed of at least 5 MBps. Please set your Zoom app to use “original sound.”***
