2777 9th St. Unit 101
Join Shambhavi and Jaya Kula for Worship! ~ a multi-day immersion in the sounds of kirtan, stotra, and mantra.
About Kirtan and CHanting
Spanda is the primordial movement of Shakti, the primordial vibration or aliveness out of which all manifest life appears. During the four and a half days of the retreat, we will immerse ourselves in the ocean of sound and get in touch with the wisdom and natural experience of worship that arise from experiencing greater continuity with life. We’ll also play in the experience of apparent duality by exploring the playful call and response nature of kirtan.
What you will receive
- Learn mantras and stotras from the Trika tradition
- Sing and play kirtan
- Receive voice lessons specifically attuned to the singing of kirtan
- Instruction in meditation and opportunities to sit in meditation with others
- Satsang with Shambhavi every evening
This immersive retreat will be held live in the East Bay, exact location TBD. It will not be livestreamed.

All Jaya Kula teachings offer “regular” and “low-income” options for registration. Just choose the option that’s appropriate for you. The students of Jaya Kula have generously donated and made it possible for us to offer additional discounts for people who cannot afford the low-income fee. Please email Shambhavi if this is your circumstance.
The “sponsoring” option is a higher donation amount. 100% of the difference between the “regular” registration fee and the “sponsoring” amount will be used to assist students who cannot afford the low-income fee. Sponsor donations will be used to both offer deeper discounts and to reimburse low-income students or people experiencing temporary financial hardships for part or all of their airfare to attend teachings and retreats.
The “Lakshmi’s Cupboard” option is for people not attending this teaching who wish to assist others to attend. Please write “Lakshmi” in the message line when making your donation so that your contribution can be earmarked for students in need.
