Immerse yourself in Ananta Satsanga, the unending satsang of the bliss permeated Mother, Anandamayi Ma.
Who is Anandamayi Ma?
Anandamayi Ma was a 20th-century avatar: a direct emanation of wisdom, born totally awake. By her own testimony, she manifested in response to the prayers of sentient beings for a female incarnation of the divine. Her teachings are precise, playful, gutsy, down-to-earth, inspiring, and deeply moving.
While accounts of her extraordinary lila, or enlightened activities, are legion, she lived her life as a householder in unusually close contact with her devotees, advising them about all aspects of life, laughing with them, comforting them, singing and simply allowing all those who came to find refuge in her presence.
Anandamayi Ma did not write books or offer formal teachings. Instead, she gathered with devotees in informal satsangs. She often said: “You will find me in satsang.” Her presence is still felt by anyone who wishes to seek her out.
Anandamayi Ma is Shambhavi’s Guru and guiding light, informing both the mission and shape of Jaya Kula. On this Guru Purnima, we will endeavor to draw closer to her in satsang.
Ananta Satsang
Ananta Satsang means infinite or unending satsang. During this retreat, we will gather to immerse ourselves in the words of Anandamayi Ma, words she spoke in answer to the questions of tens of thousands of devotees. We will dive deep into Mā’s teachings, kirtan, life story, and presence.
While this retreat will proceed more or less spontaneously, you can expect the following:
- Readings from a new translation of Ma’s satsangs
- Kirtan – Jaya Kula favorites and also learning traditional kirtans sung in Ma’s ashrams
- Invocations of Ma through mantra, meditation, and puja
- Sharing stories of Ma’s life
- Teachings on the nature of Avataras, their role in our lives, and Ma’s relationship to the incarnations of Vishnu.
