with Shambhavi Sarasvati
Your real nature, the heart of wisdom, is available to be discovered at any moment.
Join Shambhavi and the Jaya Kula community every Thursday at 6:45pm Pacific for a period of quiet sitting followed by satsang.
What happens in Heart Darshan?
You are invited to sit with Shambhavi and engage in any meditation practice or other quiet sadhana. If you don’t have a practice, Shambhavi will give you a simple meditation to do. Occasionally there may be a guided meditation focusing on the heart space.
After sitting, we drink tea and have a relaxed conversation. You can ask questions or share. Kirtan is also sometimes on the menu.
What is Darshan?
Darshan means to see your real nature. You discover in an experiential way that you are made of indestructible wisdom and virtue. In the direct realization traditions such as Trika Shaivism and Dzogchen, this often happens through the alchemical process of sitting with a teacher.
What is the Heart?
Trika Shaivism emphasizes the heart as the essence of reality. The heart is the outpouring of wisdom and virtue that lives within us and everywhere. The heart is the living symbol of the beneficence, clarity, and wisdom that gives rise to and pervades all beings, worlds, and circumstances.
Timings
Every Thursday unless there is a retreat happening. Doors open at 6:45pm Pacific. Meditation begins at 7pm.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Shambhavi emphasizes the more explicitly devotional teachings and practices of Trika Shaivism and Dzogchen and direct knowing through encounters with the wisdom of the heart. She is also known for making complex teachings about the nature of the self and reality understandable, practical, and always relatable to everyday experience. Her teachings are grounded in her more than thirty-five years of daily personal practice and personal retreats.
“Generosity is a fountain of living light at the heart of creation. Having opened your heart and recognized its identity with the heart of the divine, you want to be here giving and giving throughout your natural lifetime. This is the essence of realization.” ~Shambhavi
