October 26 – 29
Harvest time is when we cut down what has grown and, through that process of destruction, receive nourishment. Join Shambhavi and the Jaya Kula community for a traditional sitting meditation retreat. We sit through the destruction of conceptual life and dualistic vision into the nourishment of the supreme state. Each evening we will gather for satsang and kirtan.
Harvest Retreat Day One Timings
During day one of the Harvest Retreat, Shambhavi will offer instruction in two styles of open-eyed meditation. You do not have to attend the instructional sessions if you have attended a past meditation teaching in Shamatha or Sahaja with Shambhavi.
If you have never received instruction in either Shamatha or Sahaja from Shambhavi, or if you are doing Shamatha and think you might like to learn Sahaja, please write to Shambhavi to discuss which session would be appropriate for you.
Day 1, October 26, 9:30am-noon ~ Introduction to meditation and instruction in Shamatha, an open-eyed meditation practice invoking the simplicity and calm abiding that comes from rediscovering your home in the world just as it is.
Day 1, October 26, 2pm-4:30pm ~ Introduction to Sahaja, open-eyed contemplation. Sahaja is similar to Trekchöd Mahamudra, and Shikantaza. You must have an established open-eyed meditation practice or permission from Shambhavi to take this teaching.
Day 1, October 26, 6:30pm-8:30pm ~ Satsang and kirtan – open to all registered students
Harvest Retreat Day Two – Four Timings

10:30am-12 noon ~ Meditation

About the teacher
Shambhavi emphasizes the more explicitly devotional teachings and practices of Trika Shaivism and Dzogchen and direct knowing through encounters with the wisdom of the heart. She is also known for making complex teachings about the nature of the self and reality understandable, practical, and always relatable to everyday experience. Her teachings are grounded in her more than thirty-five years of daily personal practice and personal retreats.
“Generosity is a fountain of living light at the heart of creation. Having opened your heart and recognized its identity with the heart of the divine, you want to be here giving and giving throughout your natural lifetime. This is the essence of realization.” ~Shambhavi
