Dear Friends,
Jaya Kula Press is publishing my first book of poetry sometime later this spring. (June-ish) The title is No Retreat: Poems on the Way to Waking Up. I am very pleased to share the newly minted cover with you. It was designed by Ceci Sorochin, our long-time ally.
I could hardly believe it, but somehow I managed to write 65 poems over a period 15 years, mostly during times of the eruption of intense spiritual feeling. Looking forward to sharing them with you.

Moon Poem for Li Po
I’m no longer praying
the moon will
give way to the sun.
All that hard time trying
to pull down
the night.
I’m stopping all of it.
If my teachers beat me,
I’ll flop around.
For now I only want to do
the pure Buddha practice
and relax.
Who wants to die
chasing the moon?
